You need Purple Lips!
You need Purple Lips!
(Trust Me.)
Is there a better smell than when you first walk into a bakery? I had just had lunch and yet my stomach rumbled when I walked in the door of Purple Lips. The owner and operator, Stephanie Wullms, met me with a smile and gave me a quick tour of the place. Tall ceilings, bright white walls and immaculately clean. We sat at a small desk and chatted about her history and future plans. She originally studied Criminal Law but had always been an avid baker and cook. When she lived in Alberta she discovered the Saskatoon berry and as a hobby, started to experiment with baking theses delicious berries. (I have to admit that just previous to this I had put my foot in my mouth and asked about the name: Purple Lips. It is these deep, rich berries that turn the eater’s mouth a lovely shade of purple. Hence the name.) She began to gain a reputation as an amazing baker in their small community and when it came time to return to Ontario and with additional training in management, she decided to turn a very popular hobby into a business.
